We’re not your average virtual support business. At Beam, we bring together a unique two-location model: a UK-based team with deep lettings expertise, and a highly capable South African team with hands-on experience in UK property management.
We guide clients through best practice in tenancy administration, evictions and compliance, helping our clients stay on the right side of tenancy law and minimise their exposure to non-compliant tenancies, costly fines, unsuccessful possession claims and unsafe properties. We set up systems, build new agencies, overhaul compliance and turn around messy operations.
Meanwhile, our South African team focuses on the day-to-day: managing tenants, troubleshooting maintenance, checking rents and running the systems you rely on. All of our South African team are trained in COHO CRM, further building on their own lettings software knowledge gained from their time in UK agency.

Founding team

Beam was founded in 2020 by Jane following a 15-year career in the property sector. With a background spanning executive support roles for the CEO of listed property funds, the mortgage industry and investor relations for a London residential developer, Jane realised the importance of property-niched virtual support for landlords and property businesses. A landlord herself, she also co-founded and ran Podville, a Bristol-based office development made from upcycled shipping containers.
From the early days of Beam, Jane’s partner Taran Hughes has been instrumental in shaping the business behind the scenes. With a background in sales and leadership, Taran left the corporate world to work in the startup ecosystem as a mentor and founder. Over the past decade, he’s written two books and supported a number of ventures. At Beam, he focuses on sales strategy and commercial partnerships.
Together, Jane and Taran bring a unique blend of property expertise, operational know-how and commercial strategy to help UK landlords and letting agents scale their operations with the right virtual support.
